Production Designer

Our client, located north of Boston, is looking for a part-time, onsite production designer to work a varied schedule of full days, ranging from 2--4 days per week depending on workload. This role will extend through the summer and possibly longer for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for building catalogs following established guidelines, including page layout, image and copy placement and edits. In addition, you will be maintaining page consistency around fonts and references, formatting approved new copy documents and importing to layouts, placing photography into layouts and preparing mechanicals and preparing final proofs. This is a MAC environment, using InDesign and an integrated database program.
To qualify, you should have 3
years of experience in a studio, agency or in-house creative department. Experience in catalog or publishing production is also preferred. You must be highly proficient in Mac OSX, InDesign and Photoshop. Acrobat, Illustrator, Filemaker Pro and HTML experience are all a huge plus. . Catalog or publishing experience helpful. Great project management, organizational and interpersonal skills along with strong attention to detail and deadlines is also important.
