We are looking for the right person to fill a full-time role as a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Otolaryngology practice.
An LPN license is required.
This is an in-office position, working with the physicians as necessary.
The Triage Nurse is responsible for utilizing his/her nursing skills - over the phone - to provide comprehensive care for the patient.
The Triage Nurses handle phone calls from patients who are seeking medical information and/or medical attention.
They work as a team and schedule appointments as the patient's condition requires, answer questions, and provide health education.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Triage patients over the telephone.
Assess and evaluate their concerns.
This includes screening the illness, advising the patient of in home self-care when appropriate and scheduling an office visit with a physician or physician assistant, when necessary.
Responsibility includes coordinating timeliness of visit i.
e.
, emergency room, urgent, this week, next week, etc.
Proficiency in clinical skills.
Requirements:
Current Massachusetts licensing and CPR certification required.
Experience with phone triage in a group practice required, ENT experience preferred, but will train the right candidate.
Electronic medical record helpful.
